My life has been a big pot into which I have poured art, music, a family and lots of experience. I suppose I’ve done more and seen more than most people ever imagine. Part of my time has been spent as an entertainer. I’ve had the pleasure of working some pretty awesome venues with my own bands. I must admit, there’s a lot of excitement to walking out on stage in front of three or four thousand screaming fans and knowing it’s you they’re screaming for. I’ve been fortunate enough that it’s happened to me a few times.

The first band that I organized and fronted was called “Times Square” because a young lady I knew suggested the name and everybody liked it. That group existed and worked for about two years while I was in Mobile.

I later fronted and played guitar in Southwind Express. After coming to Nashville, I had several bands including the Hole in the Wall Gang, Sundance & Satin Doll, and a bunch more. In fact there were so many, I’ve forgotten most of them. For a few years, I worked almost every spot in Nashville.

I guess my favorite group was Desert Fire, the group that included my son Craig. I was the leader until Craig got his shot and then I was happy to stand aside and let him be the front man. That group included at various times, Ronnie Meadows, Forest Smith, Dendy Jarrett, Don Sauls, Jeff Reichart, Linda Joseph and a few other great pickers.

I’ve been fortunate to stand in the spotlight more than most and it’s been a blast. If you’d like to hear the band, email me and order a CD. I’ll send you one for ten bucks and if you don’t like the music, they make great coasters and Frisbees.
